What a weekend.
A friend from St Aidan's (all-girls school I went to until halfway through Year 10) had her 21st on Saturday night at a Hotel just near the city. Was interesting as I hadn't seen most of them since then, and that was nearly 5 years ago. It was ok, but I'm so glad I went to Northside. It reinforced just how blessed I am to have a group of friends who don't go out and get drunk on a regular basis, sleep around, backstab each other, etc. *hugs Northside friends*
I stood out something chronic. They were all wearing the usual stuf - strapless tops, short skirts, pants, etc. I wasn't. I was wearing this awesome plum skirt Mum and I made. It was really simple - wrap-around, but slightly different. The whole thing is kinda hard to explain, but if there are photos, I'll post one. The top was this black and yellow netting material I tied around my neck then around me, with a white strapless t-shirt material top underneath. It was so completely different that everyone looked twice. I wasn't that uncomfortable because I was expecting it, but it was still.....a bit fun, I guess. I'm so different to all of them. Always have been, but it was much more prounounced last night. And not just because of the clothing.
Subjected Met up with
iainc there, and we left right after the cake. The Pancake Place in the city is alive and well! Got to bed around 3am, and was up for Church at 7. *head hits desk*
Interesting day today. Might expound later.
