May. 10th, 2006 04:26 pmAUSSIES! For those of you who haven't already seen it, I am shamelessly plugging this. Oh, teh funnies.
I've decided to take a 2 minute break from piracy, and find articles for my Media studies and Education assignments. I'm actually more looking forward to doing media studies than education, which is scary. Dooode.
The exam timetable is finalised, and my Education exam is still on the 23 June. WOE.
After reading an article about it, critical literacy in schools is stupid and a joke and I'm supported by so many people who have better credentials than I do. All this new-age stuff about critical literacy and creating a generation of 'thinkers' is crap; kids who can't read properly are no use to a society that values 'thinkers', and the rate of illiteracy in schools is rising. SO FRUSTRATING. This is what we're learning about - Critical Literacy is the topic for my latest education assignment. SO STUPID.
Just thought I'd share.
