(This is, of course, not including ancient sources - if I include ancient sources, it comes to 4763. Now we all see why I was panicking about having to include them.)
I am technically 600 words over, but tough. I'll read through it again anyway and probably chop bits.
*sighs* Now to tidy references, footnotes, etc.
