It's nice to have our computer back*; if only to download the 394857934857 emails into Outlook. The more I use my mac the more I love it. It is the best eva.

Am feeling pretty much 100%, although my knees are giving me hell. I know it's my own fault; I need to go buy inserts for my shoes, but I think part of it now is coming from my lower back from that hospital bed. The pain.

Oh, and the Ashes start today! We are so going to win. It's awesome. *g* Ooh, we won the toss! Must remember that everyone else is an hour ahead of us. I have no doubt this will cause confusion considering we're the only one of 2 states who don't have daylight savings and the first test is being played here. Oh well, not our fault if the southerners want to mess with time and confuse people.

Husband is complaining overtime that he has to work and can't watch it, while I have a TV where I work *and* at home. Woe is him. Poor Husband.

Start work at 2pm, but I'm going in at around 1-ish to see one of the Doctors and chat to the girl who's job I'm partially taking over for a month. Whoo.

* - Monitor blew up. Literally. Poof.

GLEE

Oh, I just found THE BEST shortcut ever for my mac.

I could never figure out how to alt-tab through windows of the same application; for example, if I had two Safari (equivalent of IE) windows open and wanted to swap backwards and forwards, I had to select Window off the menu bar, then the window I wanted. And there is no explorer bar down the bottom to simply click on things. This was getting tiresome.

But, by sheer accident, I have located the shortcut to do this! It is the little apple button (I don't remember what it's called) and the little ` or ~ button in the top left corner.

DUDE. This has MADE MY DAY. Tragically, I have finished my assignment already (YAY) but I still have to do the reference list, so I will use it with GLEE.

I don't like this assignment much. I don't think I'll do very well, but we'll see. I've thought I've bombed out before and got 5's and 6's, so we shall have to see.

Off to FINISH REFERENCE LIST USING NEW SHORTCUT KEY. YAY.

It was SO NICE to sleep in this morning. SO NICE. But I think it's made me sleepy-er. Give my body an inch, and it'll take a mile.

I now have xJournal, which is an LJ client for macs. So far so good - it works very similarly to Semagic, which is nice.

No motivation to do Uni work. Le sigh.

Work is at 1pm, but I'm going to go in early to see if I can find another pair of work trousers. Considering I only have one pair and I'm supposed to wear them 5 days a week, things are getting a little tight. I want to find better quality ones this time, but they're blue, and blue just isn't that cool at the moment. Frustrating, but at least I know Supre has them. MEH.

Ok, should really go now. Work. Uni. Shopping.

Ooh, icons....

*kicks MSN* Work, dammit. FIgure out the settings yourself!

I always have this problem; msn can't find the server, and I can never remember the settings to make it find it. And I'm not asking the tech guys, cause duh. MSN needs to die. AIM, however, has brains and is apparently not randomly dying, so that's nice.

*sighs*

Completely TMI... )

Ooooh!

I love Uni wireless. So FAST.

Well, I made it. I have two bags - one for the laptop and uni books, and the other full of my normal stuff plus a heap of books from the library. What a nightmare. I'm so sore already, and I've only walked a total of maybe 2km. Wah. But I'm taking the books back, so it should be *significantly* lighter soon. YAY.

I can't fit alot into the laptop bag, which is mildly annoying. I could probably get my wallet, phone, keys, etc in there, and a paperwork for my subjects, plus the charger and stuff for the laptop, but not much else. Oh well; I guess I'll have to learn to travel light!

Ok, must do work.

Oohh, I could *so* go a coffee right now...

wheeeeee!

Coming to you live from my NEW MACBOOK ZOMG.

*falls over*

I have MSN - it came with the Office Software - and I'm downloading AIM now. The only thing - and [livejournal.com profile] stars_like_dust mentioned it when she got her iBook - was that there is no where for the windows to flash, so they don't flash. So please bear with me while I get used to it all!

It's so pretty. And white. So white.

It's getting its first test drive tomorrow at church - we have a QLD Relating Leaders Meeting at Church in the morning, so I'll be using it there.

SO. EXCITING.

So tired.
mebfeath: (wooooot!)
OMG MY MACBOOK IS SITTING AT IAIN'S WORK WAITING FOR ME.

*dances*

*falls over*

And you know the worst thing? I start work in about 15 mins and don't finish till 7pm. NOT FAIR.

The funniest thing? He has to sit there and stare at it for 2 hours until I get home. *grins evilly*

eeeeeeeee!

My order has been shipped! YAY! *dances* The estimate I'll have it on Wednesday (30 Aug) or before. DUDE. SO EXCITED. I'm hoping it arrives Monday or Tuesday so I can play with it and use it for Uni on Wednesday so I don't have to type these stupid notes again, but we'll see.

Well, recitation went well, I think. Don't know when I'll get my marks, but hopefully soon.

Just have to print my essays and hand them in, type up my English notes and pay the phone bill. Hmmm, might do that one the way to work considering I work next door to the post office...

ahhh.

Dammit, I'm tired. *puts eyes back in head* And I ache and pain. Must take panadol before going to bed.

Ok, so all written assessment for Friday finished. I must print on Friday and hand in. Must not forget.

GRUMPY. My pretty Macbook, which I was going to order tomorrow morning has gone from shipping in 24 hours to shipping in 9-11 business days. WHY? I am going to call and speak to a human to find out why. Am not happy. The only reason I'm ordering it online is because it's the only way to get the Education discount (which works out to be around $800 when all totalled). I am hoping it is a technical error. This is possibly not a good start to our relationship.

My eye was doing weird things earlier, but it seems to have corrected itself. This is worrying.

TIRED. GRUMPY. Going to bed.

Ok, I'm bored.

Don't wanna work.

I'm stuck here till 5, although I did get to drive in so I'm happy.

There's a MacBook on eBay (Australia) a guy is selling - all up, the total package would have cost him just over AU$3000, and at the moment the highest bid is AU$1802. We haven't decided if we're going to bid for it yet, but we have until tomorrow afternoon anyway. I reeeeaaaallllyyyy want it. Dude.

Anyway, must get back to the Dysplasia form. Meh.

I have been hearing (and reading) about how wunderbar Macs are lately, and I had a thought. Well, some credit must go to [livejournal.com profile] seldear who started me off on this train of thought...but anyway.

What do you hate about Macs? What little tiny thing drives you nuts? What major flaw makes you grumpy?

I want to know! I am trying to convince my husband to buy me considering buying a macBook, and want to know what annoying things they hold. I know they're not perfect. Anyone may comment. Please.
