Is LJ playing silly buggers for anyone else? I'd really like to reply to comments, but I believe that's too hard right for LJ at the moment. Humph.

Am going shopping with the husband today. It would appear that he's actually going to get his day off this time. And I don't have to be at work until 2pm. YAY. So we're going to hover around Chermside for a few hours and see if we can find birthday presents, etc.

Oh, and WE WON YAY!

Mine's occasionally hiccuping if I try to comment, but going back and re-commenting (the text is still there, mercifully) tends to fix it.

Meh. I didn't have time, so I gave up. Seems fine now though!

Good to hear.

By the by, I don't know how much you've heard from Michael/read on my LJ, but you know he's going to teach International Relations rather than History?

Yeah, he mentioned that! His contemporary history and grasp on politics is better than his actual history, so it doesn't really surprise me that much. He'll do well, I think.

I quite agree on both counts - there were times in the SEA course when I wanted to scream "just call it PolSci already!"

Apparently he knows someone who emigrated from Singapore (and now earns far too much money for doing far too little) after reading his biography of Lee Kuan Yew. That's influence, I tells ya.

*LAUGH* Yeah, I was the same at times! It was pretty interesting though.

Wow. Go him!

I need to give him a Wikipedia bio, actually. Given that his Lee Kuan Yew work is basically the study of the man, he seems to be worthy of an encyclopedia article.

I have no doubt he'd be flattered to know he has a Wiki article. *g*

But yes - it's pretty awesome.

I have every intention next year of Emailing Bob and Michael their Wikipedia bios. It's got to be the least I can do.
