Yes, have been mildly busy.

Had church camp on the weekend, which was awesome. And we're going away this weekend. So excited. Cannot WAIT.

English exam tomorrow. Shouldn't be too hard, considering it's only 30 minutes, but I'll still study a bit in the morning. Then it's finishing my Education assignment, and hopefully handing that in. Otherwise I'll have to rock in at Uni on Friday, which is going to be a pain.

Scored 4/5 for my history outline, and 8/10 for the select bibliography, so I'm happy. Oh, and a 6 (Distinction) for the education assignment that ate my brain. I'll just be happy to pass this semester, to be honest. Doing well is a bonus that makes me happy.

Mum's birthday today, but we're having a dinner tomorrow night because they're out.

Tired.
mebfeath: (House - Idiots are fun)
Thus endeth another day at work. Tragically, today was a Saturday. And it was boring.

I am going home. Via Woolworths to get an apple crumble and some custard. YUMM.

I wonder who'll win the election...
mebfeath: (wooooot!)
OMG MY MACBOOK IS SITTING AT IAIN'S WORK WAITING FOR ME.

*dances*

*falls over*

And you know the worst thing? I start work in about 15 mins and don't finish till 7pm. NOT FAIR.

The funniest thing? He has to sit there and stare at it for 2 hours until I get home. *grins evilly*

blah

Ok, I'm bored.

Don't wanna work.

I'm stuck here till 5, although I did get to drive in so I'm happy.

There's a MacBook on eBay (Australia) a guy is selling - all up, the total package would have cost him just over AU$3000, and at the moment the highest bid is AU$1802. We haven't decided if we're going to bid for it yet, but we have until tomorrow afternoon anyway. I reeeeaaaallllyyyy want it. Dude.

Anyway, must get back to the Dysplasia form. Meh.
mebfeath: (Coffee)
Oy. Tired.

Finally got somewhere on the Education essay research. Whoo. Planning on finishing that this weekend if I can.

Our new credit cards just arrived! So exciting. Now all we have to do is sign up for the Frequent Flyers program, we start accruing points. Yay! It's a weird system with the interest free days thing, but oh well. As long as we stay on top of it, it's all good. We're not planning on using it unless we can put the money on almost straight away, so it should be fine. We picked the ones we did because they actually give you two cards - an Amex and a Mastercard. The Amex scores you 1 frequent flyer point per $1 spent, and the mastercard is 0.5 points pere $1. So where you can't use the Amex, or where there's a fee to use it, you can still use the mastercard and earn points. I think it's a great idea. Yay! Travelling!

Molly is interveiwing Paris Hilton, and she isn't as dumb as he obviously expected. She's actually quite serious, and has a few brain cells. It's actually quite amusing watching him change the tone of the interview. Hee.

Am working till 9am, English lecture/tute 10am-12:30, then work 1pm-7pm. Long day. I'm a huge fan of the early morning before it gets busy, then the afternoon which is usually quiet. I think I prefer it to the Tuesday which is usually 7-11am, then 4-7pm. But then you've got the lunch rush this afternoon...hmmm. I shall give my verdict this evening.

We're interviewing new staff, which is nice. No more 38 hour weeks for me!

Off to finish working...

zooooom

Wow am so tired. Have been so busy. Work is insane - I'm working 37-38 hour weeks, on top of Uni and everything else. I don't think I'll be able to do it much longer and actually get everything done I have to, considering I have three pieces of assessment due in less than 3 weeks. We're trying out new staff at the moment, so hopefully that'll take the pressure off a little. I'm happy with my 28-30 hours, thankyou very much! I didn't really realise just how much 8 hours meant to me...

The brother is at the State Titles for Basketball in Melbourne. He got elected team captain, so he's stoked. I'm really proud of him; his teammates vote, and the coaches have the final say. He gets back tomorrow night. I kinda miss him, even though he lives with Mum and Dad. We've seen them alot lately, which has been nice.

I guess it's a good thing I recognise now that I'm not really going to be able to keep up. Well, in the natural at least. The money is great, but I'm exhausted and I've been dragging my Education textbook around for the last two days reading the chapters on the train just to catch up. Not that I mind that much, to be honest. Gives me something to do while I'm in transit. But I'm wearing out fast. I must pray. Hmmm.

I'm pretty much up with everything at the moment, but I really need to start on this Education assignment. It's 1200 words, and I want to do well. Ok, so I want to do well in all my subjects, but I'm a perfectionist. ;)

Anyways, the recitation is bigger than I thought, but that's ok. I should be able to get it down pat. I have to pick my History essay topic though, and I don't really like any of them. Usually there's a few I can choose from, but I actually don't want to do any of them. Woe. I'll just have to pray about it.

At least I don't have to work tomorrow. Tonight I'll make sure I have Venus and Adonis almost read by the time I sleep. Then tomorrow I'll have to have a good stab at the education assignment (at least pick my topic and start researching) and have my Southeast Asia (History) topic narrowed down at least. I'll just hope the husband is coming home with his friend as opposed to wanting me to pick him up from the Valley sometime between now and dawn. Eeeep. I'm mildly scared; my husband is venturing into the Valley. Iain. The boy who'd never really been to a real party before he met me. Me, who'd been partying in the Valley since she was 13. Yay for him.

So have to get all that done tomorrow. Oh, and prepare my thing for mentoring on 'my passion'. And do the washing and mop the floor and do the ironing and....

And because this is a super-boring post and I want your opinions...A POLL!

woes

It's the last day of holidays! Woes. I am sad. I like holidays.

GAH! I hate windows. I put in a CD of one of the teachings at church, and WMP decides it's an Amand van Bruuin or whoever CD. I finally got it to change the artist and album over, but whoof. It's take 15 minutes to get it to STAY THAT WAY. *kicks WMP* The only reason I used it was because it rips in WMA format which the husband's MP3 player (M:robe or something) reads. It doesn't like iPod format. Silly thing.

Anyways, am exhausted, so off to bed. I'll probably post tomorrow during my 10 HOUR SHIFT. *grumps*

Ahhhhh

I'm at work till 5pm because Medicare has said that we have to be open from 9am-5pm at least to qualify for some stuff. Stupid.

So I'm here doing a flowchart for the boss's Vanuatu Cervical Cancer Prevention Scheme. I hate working with drawing tools in Word; they're so fiddly.

Off to the parents-in-law tonight to see another of Iain's cousins from Canada. This is the last one. *g*
mebfeath: (Australian Flag)
IT IS OFFICIALLY NOT FAIR. *grumps loudly*

The Croatia vs Australia game is on Friday 5am. My exam is Friday 2:30pm. *sulks*

Got up to watch the Brazil vs Aus game this morning at 2am. Game finished at 4am. Got up at 7am to do washing, then go back to bed till 11:30 for work at 1pm. Got call from work at 8:15am.

*cries*

I'm offically doing 9:45am to 7pm. Then I'm going home TO BED.

We're doing really well - beat Japan 3-0, but Brazil beat us 2-0. We played fantastically - they only scored in the last half, and both were really fluke shots. We just have to win or draw with Croatia to progress to the next round. Yay!
mebfeath: (House - how I hate humanity)
Well, whoever it was handed the video in early yesterday, so that was great. I didn't get through it all so I'm going to head back this evening after work. It's been really good - he's actually explaining the terms and giving us the definitions and stuff. Amazing. We may actually be able to do our assignments. FREAK OUT.

I was only supposed to work until 1pm, but one of the girls is sick, so I'm staying till 5pm. I don't really want to; I'm tired and I just want to go to Uni and do what I have to do and show my tutor my thing and go home. *sigh* No one else can stay, though, so it's up to me. The money will be nice anyway.

Car is fixed! Yay! And all nice and clean and pretty! YAY!

*eyes clock* Back to work already. Woe.

Um, will update more later when my brain doesn't feel like it's in a blender.
mebfeath: (Empire Records)
Everyone go comment on [livejournal.com profile] iainc's journal. He posted. OMG.

My brain hurts. I did a 12-hour shift at work yesterday because someone called in sick, and no one else could stay. I kinda didn't mean to though...

Leanne: 'Catherine's sick. She can't come in.'
Me: 'Oh, not good. [She's getting married in 2 weeks!] I can stay if you want.'
Leanne: 'Do you have Uni?'
Me: 'Nope.'
Leanne: 'Stay till 7? It's a long day.'
Me: 'Ahhh...'
Leanne: 'Good. Yay.'
Me: *falls over*

So yes. Twelve hours, with 2 half-hour breaks in the middle-ish. Then a 7-hour today (6 hours and 1 hour paperwork), so I'm stuuuuuffed. And I got like, no assignment done. Woe. Must work on it tomorrow. Am currently searching for maritime boundaries in Southeast Asia to prove that most of the Melaka Straits are owned by Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia and thus the UN definition of piracy is stupid. Long story. Technically it's 12 miles off the coast of the country, with the rest of the ocean classed as international waters, but Indonesia is an archipelago with zillions of islands, so that kinda defeats the purpose.

My hair is getting more and more orange.

AHHH.

Am getting seriously grumpy. I have had a headache all afternoon and the computers at work DIED and now Firefox has eaten my bookmarks. *cries*

I arrived at work at 1pm. At approximately 1:05pm, the appointment book program, which has it's own server, crashed. Died. Completely kaput. We had NOTHING for TWO AND A HALF HOURS. Nada. Zilch. So we just randomly slotted patients in with Doctors unless they knew who they were seeing. No reciepts or medicare forms at all; we had to keep a list of all the patients who were seen, how they were billed, the doctor they saw, etc, so we could do the billing afterwards when the computers were eventually fixed. Nightmare. We couldn't make any appointments, we couldn't check to see if they were privately billed normally, nothing. We couldn't create files for new patients, and so the doctors had to hand-write notes for them, which made them annoyed, but they were wise enough to not complain about it. Several people just didn't get it...

Lady: 'I'd like to make an appointment to see Dr XXX.'
Me: 'I'm sorry, but our system is down and I can't make any appointments at this stage. Would you be able to call back in an hour or so?'
Lady: 'Oh. But I need to make an appointment.'
Me: 'I'm sorry, but the system is down and I can't make an appointment for you without the computer. It should be up fairly soon.'
Lady: 'Then how are you making appointments?'
Me: *mildly loses temper* 'WE CAN'T.'
Lady: 'Oh.'
Me: 'If you call back either later this afternoon or early tomorrow morning, we should be able to do something then.'
Lady: 'Oh, ok. But when do you think it'll be back up?'
Me: 'I'm not sure at this stage, but try again in an hour.'
Lady: 'Ok. Thanks.'
Me: *tears hair out*

Seriously, that's almost exactly what the conversation was like. Idiot. I ended up doing the billing for all the patients over the two and a half hours that whole afternoon. It was crazy. I don't think I got all of them because the banking was out, but that's ok. I'm sure we'll figure it out.

I'm going to bed.
mebfeath: (cammomile - nylka)
Media studies assignment officially completed. WHOO. Now to start on History...

Today was busy. I haven't worked a whole morning shift (7am-1pm) in a while, so it's been a shock to do three in a row again. The afternoon is much nicer, I think - much less crazy.

[livejournal.com profile] seldear, where are you? I'm online and you're not. It's freaking me out. Ok, so you're in Tassie. I knew that.
mebfeath: (easter eggs on grass)
Decided to ditch my education lecture because she was reading directly from the powerpoint, and I nearly fell asleep twice. SO BORING. Ditched the tute, too, because we don't get marked on participation, and the next assignment is due in week 11, which is 5 weeks away, so I doubt there'll be much on it this week. A friend is going to pass on any vital info anyways. Handed assignment in (FINALLY) at the office, so it's all good. Nearly got on the bus without handing it in. That would have seriously sucked.

Am contemplating finding a spare room at work and sleeping. Seriously. Am tired, and I don't start again until 4. Hmm. I have paperwork to do, so maybe I should do some of that, but that'll only take 30 mins or so....hmm...

Am getting kicked out of the room. Off to work it is!
mebfeath: (Ewoks - Squee! - hritza)
Am at work having a break from paperwork. I haven't done any in 2394872934618497 years, so I will be here forever, and then some. YAY.

[livejournal.com profile] iainc has a day off today because he's working Saturday, and thus I am jealous. The fact that I have a day off tomorrow and *don't* have to work Saturday is irrelevant.

Oh, and someone *please* tell me Gibbs and Jen get together on NCIS. The UST is incredible, and THEY SO LIKE EACH OTHER, SO NER.

My father-in-law has our LotR DVD's, and I want them because I want to watch them tomorrow while I'm supposed to be finishing an assignment and starting another one. Woe.

I have a coldsore. WOE. *stomps feet* I HATE COLDSORES.

Am feeling childish. Not that that is new, but I thought I'd point out the obvious.
mebfeath: (Leia & Han - inishman)
I ripped my nail. Quite high up the nail, too. It doesn't hurt, but it keeps getting caught on things, which is mildly irritating.

I am riding to Uni on the bus (to hand in assignment), and there are about 10 of us on this shiny, new bus. It still even had newbus smell. So nice. Anyway, all of a sudden I feel water on my shoulder, and I realise the bus is leaking on me. So I shift across slightly, and within a few seconds, feel water on the other shoulder. So I look up, and yes, the bus is, again, leaking on me. So I move to a different seat the next time it stops, and lo and behold, the bus leaks on me in my new seat. While all this is going on, the people around me are realising that the bus is LEAKING ON THEM TOO. And then we stop rather suddenly, and water literally POURS out a large-ish vent in the roof. POURS. It does this about 10 or 11 times in the 15 minute journey to Uni. At this point everyone's eyebrows are raised and we play musical chairs to avoid getting wetter *inside* the bus than *out*. Mind you, it is absolutely POURING outside; we couldn't see the 100m across the river (which is just to our left). Was rather disconcerting being rained on from INSIDE the bus.

Husband is out YET AGAIN tonight. Such a social butterfly. So I'm going to desert the house and watch the Incredibles at my parents house and eat yummy-mum-cooked food. YAY.

I have this sudden overwhelming desire to not go to work. REALLY DON'T WANT TO GO. Woe.

Le tired. WHY? WHY AM I SO TIRED ALL THE TIME? I AM SICK OF WANTING TO SLEEP! Grr. Grumpy.

Mmm, food. *wanders off*

work glee

So yes, forgot to mention. Girl who has been giving me grief at work has left. OFFICIALLY GONE. Am very grateful to God that she has gone. I hated trying to be nice/not frustrated when all I wanted to do was tell her to get her head out of the clouds and actually focus on working.

Am happy for that. I'll miss her, cause she was a nice girl, but still. Yayshe'sgone.
mebfeath: (Leia & Han - inishman)
So yes. Am seriously struggling with assignment. Woe. Prayer would be highly muchly hugely appreciated. The tutorial helped a little, but we'll see when I go to write it. Meh.

Weekend was good; spent yesterday at Church then off to the Gold Coast to see my brother play basketball. They won, but he didn't play all that well, so he's slightly grumpy about that, but they're in the finals, so he's happy. Had a Yatala Pie on the way home (YUM), and then had All Leaders meeting, which was good. I think that might be why I'm so tired; we didn't really stop and relax at all yesterday. Hmmm. Husband is feeling a little flat himself, so that's probably why.

I'm hot. It's about 23 degrees (celcius) in here (work), if that, and I'm hot. Meh.

On the upside, I had a nice curry for lunch. And for a nice price, so I'm happy.

And another upside - girl who has been giving me a lot of grief since she started may be leaving as she has another job. She can't decide whether or not to take it (the pay rate is less, but it's more hours, and it's more in the line of work she wants to end up in)...I hope she takes it, but something in her attitude says she may not. I'm going to pray that things work out the way God has planned. Fence-sitting is always a good way of being; and besides, God knows best.

I have to work till 7pm and I DON'T WANT TO. I want to GO HOME. It's not fair. I will now sulk like a 3 year old. *sulks* Stupid work. I want to WORK ON MY ASSIGNMENT.

...

Ok, so I *totally* get my assignment now.
mebfeath: (Antz - Rhonan)
HOME! YAY!

LTT was awesome; but am at work, so will post in more depth later. But yes, completely amazing.

Had my first tute this morning. Went well, I think. I have about as much clue as the rest of the class about the assignment. Which isn't much. But it's not a big one, and he's not expecting much, so it should be good. Hopefully. I have no doubt you'll hear all about it. :)

Have Macaroni Cheese for lunch which, for a change, actually tastes nice. I forgot to pack something in the rush, so hopefully this will cover me until 7:30pm or so tonight.

We have a house inspection on Wednesday FREAK OUT THE HOUSE IS A MESS AND NEEDS CLEANING AND STUFF. Am stressed. The husband has a staff meeting tonight he only found out about today, and the lawn needs mowing. Bummer. He's going to have to get up early tomorrow morning and mow it then, I think. There's really no other time because we have homegroup tomorrow night. I'm going to tackle the bathroom and the vacuuming tonight hopefully. Woe. I am tired for we have had lots of stuff on and no!sleep. Funtastic.

I NEED MY PDA. I set it charging on the computer and forgot about it, so Iain's going to head home at lunch and turn it all off. Whoops. I miss it. I want to add things and check things and woe. Sigh.

Have to go to work now. Le sigh. I feel like my icon.
mebfeath: (Me!)
Uni starts tonight! And I'm sick! Yay! Am still going though - I'm not that bad. I just feel all stuffy and blah, but I'm getting better. Tried the whole work thing this morning, and ended up leaving at 11:30 cause I just felt like crap. Slept for a while, so I'm feeling physically better, but I'm not going to push it. Early to bed with me. Dammit, Commander in Chief starts tonight. There's no tute, and I'm driving, so double bonus. Wouldn't go if I wasn't driving in. Not feeling interested in battling buses. Not working tomorrow (only Uni for 2 hours) so I should be ok by Wednesday.[Poll #680895]
